The area is actually comprised of 5 neighborhoods - Gulf Gate, Gulf Gate East, Gulf Gate Manor, Gulf Gate Pines and Gulf Gate Woods. All of the neighborhoods are comprised of older homes in the traditional ranch style, on mature tree lined, winding streets that hearken back to neighborhoods of yesterday. Gulf Gate is well known for pride of ownership - although homes are older, residents have maintained their homes and landscaping beautifully. As the price of newer homes soared, Gulf Gate experienced a renaissance as buyers renovated and upgraded these homes. With minimal deed restrictions, these neighborhoods offer a lifestyle reminiscent of old Florida, while still within minutes of all necessary services and amenities.

Just a short bike ride away is the south Causeway to Siesta Key - driving across the causeway will take you only 5 minutes from anywhere in Gulf Gate, making this one of the most affordable neighborhoods in such close proximity to the beaches of the Key. Within minutes, you can be standing on the white sands of Turtle Beach, Crescent Beach or world-famous Siesta Key Beach. A 5 minute drive will also get you to the amazing YMCA on Palmer Ranch. Gulf Gate is also host to one of Sarasota's public libraries.
