Siesta Key is perhaps best known for its truly special beaches. Located on Beach Road, Siesta Key Beach was recently named the #2 most beautiful beach in the U.S. for the second year in a row. But that is nothing new – at the “Great International White Sand Beach Challenge” held in 1987, it was recognized as having the “whitest and finest sand in the world.” Unlike beaches elsewhere that are made up mostly of coral, Siesta Beach’s sand is 99% quartz. Even on the hottest days, the sand is so reflective that it feels cool underfoot.
With so many properties to choose from, so much to do, and such a beautiful beach – Siesta Key will always be one of the most attractive real estate investments in Sarasota. Always be sure to use a Siesta Key buyer agent when purchasing real estate on this beautiful barrier island!

Beaches
It’s estimated that the sand on Siesta Beach is millions of years old; it started in the Appalachians, flowed down the rivers and was eventually deposited on the shores of Siesta Key. Shallow water depth in the near shore area, together with year round lifeguard protection, makes this one of the safest beaches in the County and great for small children.
A beach walk may yield sand dollars and coins, but it is rare to find many shells here on Siesta. The beach’s amenities include rest rooms, a concession area, picnic tables, tennis courts, ball fields, beach volleyball courts, a soccer field, a 20 station fitness trail and a playground. Don’t miss the Drum Circle on Sunday nights (in front of the concession area), when local residents and visitors alike dance to drumbeats and celebrate a gorgeous sunset. Parking is currently free, but fills up fast!
Siesta Key Public Beach is the most famous beach on the Key, but for a less crowded experience, try Crescent Beach or Turtle Beach to the south; or find a small beach access in the village to stroll the beach to the North.
